Booking of ferry tickets
Passenger and vehicles can be booked up to one hour before the ferry departure. Meals onboard can be booked until the day before departure. For booking times for connecting buses, see the respective location.
Payment
The ferry trip has to be paid for at the time of booking online or by phone. You can pay with Swish/mobile payment or bank card/credit card. We reserve the right to cancel your booking if we haven't received the payment.
Amendment/cancellation of paid ferry journey
If you are unable to travel you must cancel the trip immediately.
A paid online booking made using a customer account can be amended/cancelled via our online booking service or by telephone. If you have a paid online booking made without a customer account, please contact our telephone booking service for changes and cancelations. Telephone bookings can only be changed/cancelled by telephone. Phone number: +46175-25800 (Sweden) or +35818-28300 (Åland Islands). To get a refund the trip must be cancelled at least the day before the travel. Changes to the trip must be made no later than the day before departure. If the outbound trip has not been used or cancelled Eckerö Linjen has the right to cancel the return journey.

Claims
Any complaints should be directed to the relevant department on board as soon as a potential issue is discovered. If no immediate correction is made, claims for compensation may be submitted in writing to Eckerö Linjen within 21 days after the journey’s end, provided the customer has followed the above steps and no correction has been made. Please attach your name, the booking number, any receipts, and a description of the incident in your application.
Age-limit
The age limit of 18 years applies on board our ships and connecting buses. Children and young people under 18 years may only travel accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Exceptions are young people aged 12-17 who can provide written proof that the trip is for educational purposes, work, visiting relatives, for sports and school groups with an adult leader, or similar reasons. The exception does not apply to day cruises. Bookings can be made by phone or at any of our offices. The written proof must be carried on the trip and be verifiable with the signature of the person who provided it. You can find the letter of consent here.
Identification
Please note that you must have a valid photo ID with you on the trip and display it on request.
Children under the age of 18 who travel in company with parent or in sports and school groups with leaders who can display valid ID documents are not covered by the requirement.
Nordic citizens do not need a passport for journeys within the Nordic countries, passports of other countries may be required. However, all travelers must be able to legitimize themselves with valid ID (eg. passport). Controls are conducted on a regular basis in accordance with the ISPS Rules or International Ship and Port Facility Code, which the IMO Maritime Organization has provided for increased safety. Eckerö Linjen reserves the right to reject guests who do not have the necessary documents.
Force majeure
Due to force majeure such as severe weather, catastrophe, strike, riot, fire, acts of war or similar, Eckerö Linjen may cancel departures, in which case the customer will be notified immediately and the paid amount will be refunded in full, or alternatively, the trip can be rebooked for another departure with Eckerö Linjen. If force majeure, happenings beyond our control, generally, trips with other shipping companies or other expenses incurred as a result of canceled departures are not reimbursed.
Booking terms for package tours (trips that include ferry and accommodation or other land-based arrangements)
The combined travel services offered are a package trip within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302. Therefore, you are covered by all EU rights that apply to package holidays. Eckerö Linjen Ab will be fully responsible for the complete package travel. In addition, Eckerö Linjen AB, by law, has a protection to repay your payments and, when transport is included in the package trip, ensuring your home transport. Charges
A service fee of SEK 120 will be debited when accommodation is booked. Eckerö Linjen will keep this fee upon cancellation. An amendment charge of SEK 60 will be debited per booking and amendment. The fee is not charged if the change is an additional order. Web bookings are free of charge.
Booking
A booking is binding as soon as we have confirmed the booking and you have paid the registration charge or the rent. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if we not resave the payment.
Terms of payment
The first partial payment constitutes 20 % of the total package travel price and has to be payed at the time of booking. The final payment must be paid no later than 40 days before departure. If the booking is made 40 days or closer to departure, the full amount will be paid at the time of booking. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if we not resave the payment.
Cancellation policy – Accommodation in hotel or guesthouse

Free cancellation of rooms at hotels or guesthouses until 14.00 swedish time (15.00 finnish time) the day before arrival. Thereafter no refund is made.
Cancellation policy – accommodation in cottage/apartment or glamping

If cancellation occurs 21-29 days before arrival, Eckerö Linjen retains 20 % of the package travel price in cancellation fee.
If cancellation occurs 8-20 days before arrival, Eckerö Linjen retains 50 % of the package trip price in cancellation fee.
If cancellation occurs 3-7 days before arrival, Eckerö Linjen retains 75 % of the package trip price in cancellation fee.
If cancellation occurs later than 2 days before arrival, Eckerö Linjen retains 95 % of the package trip price in cancellation fee. If cancellations are made later than this, 100 % of the rent will be debited.
Cancellation of special land-based activities such ac greefee or other activities
1-4 people. Free cancellation until 14.00 swedish time (15.00 finnish time) the day before arrival. If cancellations are made later than this, 100 % of the amount will be debited.
5-20 people. Free cancellation 1 month before arrival. If cancellations are made later than this, 100 % of the amount will be debited.
If cancellation of tickets to concerts or other shows no refunds will be made.
Voluntary travel insurance
We recommend all customers to subscribe to a voluntary travel insurance.
Possibility of transferring the trip to another person
If you wish, you can transfer the trip to another person for a change fee of 60 kr.
Complaints
Any complaints should be directed to the accommodation provider as soon as a potential issue is discovered. If no correction is made, Eckerö Linjen must be notified immediately. Claims for compensation may be submitted in writing to Eckerö Linjen within 21 days after the rental period has ended, provided that the customer has acted as described above and no correction has been made. Please attach the booking number, payment receipt, and a description of the incident in your application. If the customer and the hotel/agent do not reach an agreement, the customer may refer the dispute to the National Board for Consumer Disputes in Stockholm.
Force majeure
When force majeure such as disaster, strike, riot, fire, acts of war or similar, Eckerö Linjen can annul the rental agreement in which case the tenant shall be informed immediately and any charges that have been paid will be refunded without deduction
Price amendments
If there are any amendments to taxes and general charges or exchange rates that have a direct impact on the rental sector after the rental agreement has become binding for the parties but before the date of access, the agent has the right to make corresponding adjustments to the amount of rent. The increase may not exceed 8%. These changes do not affect bookings that have 20 days or less left to the date of departure.
Amendment of the rented accommodation
In the event of circumstances over which the agent has no control, and if approval is given by the tenant, Eckerö Linjen can change the rented accommodation to a cottage of a similar type, value and location.
Customer Responsibility
The number of people (including children) must not exceed the number of people stated in the catalogue/on the website and in the rental contract unless approval has been given by the host. Dogs, cats and other pets are only permitted in certain cottages. Do not forget that the customs authority requires a veterinary certificate. Special regulations for Swedish pets. Contact a vet in good time before departure for the required vaccinations and other information.
The tenant undertakes to adhere to the rules of order, instructions and regulations that apply for the rented accommodation. The tenant undertakes to compensate any damage to the property, its surroundings or contents.
Cleaning
The tenant is responsible for cleaning during the rental period and before leaving the property. If the cottage has not been properly cleaned and must be done by the host, the tenant will be debited a charge which will be exacted even after the tenant has left. For some of the cottages, it is possible to order and purchase end-of-stay cleaning.
Travel guarantee and package travel law
Eckerö Linjen (Eckerö Linjen Ab, Finland, Filial, corp. reg. no. 516403-8837, Skatuddsvägen 10, SE-764 56 Grisslehamn) has lodged the statutory travel guarantee with the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet).
A travel guarantee is a form of economic protection for travelers when a tour is cancelled or interrupted. The traveler can then apply for compensation through the travel guarantee. The travel guarantee act applies for:
Package tours
A package tour is travel arrangements consisting of transport and accommodation or either of those services in combination with a tourist service such as rental car, theatre tickets or admission to a sports event. A package tour must be longer than 24 hours or include an overnight stay. A package tour is sold either at an all-in price or at separate prices that are linked to each other. There must be a travel guarantee for all package tours irrespective of whether they are sold to individuals or companies.
