Booking Terms for Group Travel with Accommodation
We strive to make your booking and travel experience smooth. To ensure that all details are clear, we have carefully formulated our booking terms for groups. Here you can easily get an overview of what applies when booking with us.
The following terms and descriptions apply to package tours in accordance with the new Package Travel Directive, which came into force on 1 August 2018.
The combined travel services offered to you constitute a package tour within the scope of Directive (EU) 2015/2302. Therefore, you are covered by all EU rights that apply to package travel. Eckerö Linjen Ab has full responsibility to ensure the package tour is carried out correctly.
In addition, Eckerö Linjen has, by law, financial protection to refund your payments (see travel guarantee info below) and, when transport is included in the package, ensure your return home.
More information about central rights can be found in Directive (EU) 2015/2302.

Complaints
As soon as any possible issue arises a report must be made directly to the accommodation facility. If no corrective action is taken, Eckerö Linjen must be notified immediately. Claims for compensation can be made in writing to Eckerö Linjen within 21 days of the end of the rental period, if the customer has proceeded as above and no corrective action took place. If the customer and the hotel/intermediary cannot reach an agreement, the customer can take the matter to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) in Stockholm.

Price changes
When changes occur in taxes and general charges that directly affect the rental industry, after the package trip has become binding for the parties, before the day of access, Eckerö Linjen has the right to make equivalent adjustments to the price of the package tour. The increase can be a maximum of 8 %. Such changes cannot affect bookings with 20 days or less until the departure date.

Customer’s responsibility
The customer undertakes to follow the regulations, instructions and rules that apply to the rental, as well as replacing any damage to the property, its surroundings or inventory.
Check-in is one hour before boat departure
In Grisslehamn the group leader collects the travel documents and boarding cards at the information point inside the terminal. All vehicles must be cleared and ready for departure no later than 30 minutes before departure time. Groups arriving with Eckerö Linjen’s connecting buses check in immediately after arrival in Grisslehamn. If you are delayed and likely to arrive late in Grisslehamn, you must ring our reservations centre on 0175-258 00. Please leave your mobile number so that we can keep in constant contact.
Boarding by car
Everybody stays in the car when boarding. This rule also applies to the return trip.
Boarding by bus
Only the driver drives onto the car deck and then boards. All passengers proceed through the departure lounge. This also applies on the return.
Other things to consider for the trip
The local time on Åland is Finnish time, i.e. one hour before Swedish time. We always use local time in our bookings. The currency on Åland is the euro, but you can pay using kronor in most stores. You can also exchange kronor to euros at our onboard information desk.
Information about the travel guarantee and Package Travel Act
Eckerö Linjen (Eckerö Linjen Ab, Finland, Branch, org. no. 516403-8837) has provided the statutory travel guarantee at the Chamber of Commerce.
Important information about travel guarantees
A travel guarantee serves as financial protection for travellers when a trip is cancelled or interrupted. In these circumstances travellers can apply for compensation from the travel guarantee. The Travel Guarantee Act applies to package tours. Travel guarantees must be available for all package tours regardless of whether they are sold to individuals or businesses. A package tour is an arrangement that consists of transport and accommodation or one of these services in combination with any tourist service, e.g. car rentals, theatre
tickets or entry to a sporting event. A package tour must be longer than 24 hours or include an overnight stay. A package tour is sold at one total package price or at different prices that are linked to each other.
The Package Travel Act
We recommend that you read the Package Travel Act before paying for your travel package. You can find it in Swedish at www.riksdagen.se/sv/dokument-lagar/dokument/svensk-forfattningsamling/paketreselag-20181217_sfs-2018-1217
