Together with Plantation, we invite you to exciting and flavorful Rum Days onboard M/S Eckerö from March 20th to 22nd. In the tax-free shop, Magasin Märket, you will also find a wide selection of rums and brands – always at great onboard prices!
Plantation's range of rums includes vintage rums, blends, and bar classics. Their signature blends are finished in cognac barrels in France – Plantation’s unique hallmark – but all distinctly and identifiably reflect their region of origin, whether it’s Barbados, Jamaica, or Fiji. The bar classics have been crafted with insights from bartenders around the world and consist of four rum varieties perfect for cocktails, from a simple Daiquiri to the most sophisticated Zombies. Plantation’s third collection features exquisite vintage rums and Single Cask editions from around the globe, with each rum honoring a country or region and characterized by the local spices that make it unique.

During the event, we will open a Pop-Up Shop with a curated selection of Plantation's most exclusive rums. This year, we are offering something truly unique: Clarendon Jamaica 1984, 57.2%. The shop will be open during the 13:30 and 18:30 departures.
Please note that some varieties are available in limited quantities and may sell out during the event.
Master Class – Exclusive Rum Tasting

From the classic XO to rare single cask editions, Van Dorp will share the stories behind the legendary rums and explain the process behind the flavor sensations awaiting you in each glass. Tastings are held during the 10:00 and 15:00 departures every day of the event. The Pop-Up Shop will be exclusively open to participants after the tasting.

The Journey of Rum Around the World
Rum is a noble spirit with a long history. Its origins can be traced to the Canary Islands, where Christopher Columbus brought sugarcane plants to Hispaniola in the West Indies in 1493. The Caribbean archipelago proved ideal for growing sugarcane, marking the beginning of something significant. Sugar production generated large quantities of molasses, and it was soon discovered that mixing the molasses with water and allowing it to ferment in the sun created a potent drink. By the 1650s, the fermented material was distilled, resulting in a high-proof beverage. Rum then spread via trade ships and became a beloved drink worldwide
